Product Strategist - Public Sector | Hybrid - Newcastle

Location: Hybrid - Newcastle (1-2 days onsite per week for first 2 months, then 1 day/month)

We're looking for a Product Strategist to lead the development and coordination of product strategy across critical digital services in the public sector. You'll work closely with Product, Engineering, and Delivery teams to align integration strategies with the broader business and departmental 2030 vision.

This is a hybrid role, requiring 1-2 days onsite in Newcastle per week for the first two months, then 1 day per month thereafter.

Key Responsibilities

• Shape the vision, scope, and roadmap for key products and services.
• Collaborate across teams to align product strategy with business and engineering goals.
• Coordinate strategy across services to ensure alignment with whole-service objectives.
• Lead the creation of service design deliverables: personas, experience maps, user flows, and insight packs.
• Drive creative digital content strategies to support campaigns and storytelling across platforms.
• Champion digital communication, branding, and design standards.
• Provide guidance on content production and manage digital content and image inventories.
• Understand and define audience needs to ensure content is engaging, relevant, and impactful.
• Translate complex digital changes into clear, accessible messaging for non-technical audiences.

Skills & Experience Required:

• Strong background in product strategy and service design within government or regulated sectors.
• Proven ability to align product roadmaps with departmental and organisational vision.
• Experience working in GDS/DDaT environments, familiar with service standards and user-centred design.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
• Strong experience in digital communication, branding, and content delivery.
• Ability to translate complex technical issues into clear, audience-relevant messaging.
