Role Overview:

This is aProduct Ownerrole within the Corporate Functions team, part of the TP ICAP Technology division. The Product Owner will work closely with Agile development teams, including software engineers, to drive the delivery of next-generation strategic back-office applications.

The role involvesowning the product vision,defining and prioritizing the product backlog, and ensuring that solutions meet business needs and quality standards. The Product Owner will collaborate with stakeholders to gather and refine requirements, translate them into actionable user stories, and make data-driven decisions to guide product development. A strong understanding of business processes and the ability to identify opportunities for improvement are key to success in this role.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Define and communicate the product vision, roadmap, and priorities, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and user needs.

  • Lead requirements gathering and process definition workshopswith business stakeholders, ensuring clarity and alignment.

  • Ensure both functional and non-functional requirementsare captured, refined, and signed off by senior Business and Technology stakeholders.

  • Challenge requirements or proposed solutionsthat deviate from strategic direction or introduce unnecessary risk.

  • Act as a key member of the Agile delivery team, with accountability for backlog grooming, story refinement, and ensuring stories meet the Definition of Ready (DoR).

  • Translate high-level business needs into detailed JIRA stories, ensuring sufficient granularity and clarity for development and QA teams.

  • Facilitate effective handovers to developersat the DoR stage-gate, ensuring shared understanding of requirements.

  • Collaborate with QA teamsto ensure test cases and acceptance criteria align with business objectives.

  • Maintain high standards of product ownership and analysis, including peer reviews and feedback within the team.

  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, reporting any breaches to Compliance or relevant supervisors as necessary.

Experience / Competences

Essential

  • Minimum of8 years of experience in technology-driven environments, with a strong background in business analysis and product ownership.

  • Solid understanding of thefront-to-back trade lifecycle, including client-facing interfaces, trading platforms, middle/back-office operations, and reference data.

  • Proven experience managing thefull product lifecycle, from requirements gathering through to implementation and delivery.

  • Proficient indata analysis, including basic SQL, with the ability to understand upstream/downstream data dependencies.

  • Demonstratedownership of functional specificationsand ability to translate business needs into actionable product features.

  • Experience inbig data migrations, data integration, and data analysisacross client, desk, and asset class levels.

  • Prior experience as aSenior Business Analyst or Product Ownerin Financial Services Technology, ideally within an Agile development environment.

  • Strong knowledge offinancial products and their data characteristics.

  • Hands-on experience withbig data analysis toolssuch as SQL, Python, or equivalent, to derive functional and non-functional requirements.

  • Familiarity withUML modelingfor workflows and requirements documentation.

  • Highly proficient inExcel, including pivot tables and data reconciliation, with the ability to convert large datasets into meaningful dashboards.

  • Good understanding ofhigh-level architecture and technical design, including the impact of requirements on system components and downstream processes.

  • Experience working withXML, BML, and FpMLformats.

  • Prior experience in large-scale transformation projects whereJIRA served as the single source of truthfor managing requirements, workflows, and delivery tracking.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skillsacross all levels, with strong presentation abilities and proficiency in collaboration tools.

  • Proven ability toengage stakeholders to gather, document, and prioritize business requirements, particularly for data integration and transformation initiatives.

  • Stronganalytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

  • Experience inanalyzing and mapping data flowsbetween financial systems and applications to support product decisions.

  • Capable ofmanaging multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, maintaining focus and delivery quality.

  • Self-starter mindset, able to identify and initiate tasks independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.

  • Strongwritten communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, accurate, and compelling documentation.

  • Results-oriented, with a high level of personal accountability and ownership of deliverables.

  • Exceptionalattention to detail, highly organized, and proactive in identifying and resolving issues.

  • Skilled inMicrosoft Office applications, includingVisio for process modeling and documentation.
