Position OverviewThe Product Director - Core Product & Growth leads the strategic direction and execution of our core product evolution and product growth initiatives. This role combines deep product expertise with strong leadership capabilities, overseeing a team of six product managers while remaining actively involved in product decisions, customer insights, and strategic direction.
The Director balances high-level strategic thinking with hands on product management work, ensuring the team delivers exceptional value to customers while driving sustainable business growth through product led approaches.
The Product Director works closely with the Director of Engineering and the Director of Product Design in a trio setup to drive product strategy, execution, and the overall user experience.
This role also collaborates deeply with Marketing and Customer Success leadership to define a seamless end to end customer journey and ensure alignment on the growth strategy - from acquisition and activation to retention and expansion.
Responsibilities: StrategyCo-create and evangelize the product strategy and 12 month roadmap for core product and growth initiatives.
Drive product led growth across acquisition, activation, retention, and expansion.
Partner closely with the Engineering and Design Directors to align strategy, execution, and user experience.
Collaborate with Marketing and Customer Success leadership to ensure a consistent end to end customer journey.
Own key product metrics and deliver measurable business impact.
Partner with executive leadership on product vision and strategic priorities.
Lead and develop 6 product managers (5 Senior PMs, 1 Staff PM)
Set goals, conduct performance reviews, and provide coaching
Foster a culture of outcome-focused, data-driven decision-making and close collaboration with engineering and design
Hire and retain top talent
Review team roadmaps and guide prioritization decisions
Jump into critical initiatives when needed
Participate in customer research and user testing to stay informed about customer needs
Remove blockers and coordinate cross-functional resources
Ensure teams deliver on commitments with clear business results
Identify and remove friction in user journeys
Improve conversion and retention metrics
Monitor growth metrics and iterate based on data
5+ years of hands on product management experience working in the product trio model
4+ years managing product teams
Proven track record in shipping products that drove significant business outcomes
Strong analytical skills and data-driven decision making
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Experience with unit economics and SaaS metrics
User acquisition, activation, retention, expansion
On time delivery with measurable business impact and ROI
Team retention and development
Product quality and customer satisfaction (NPS, CSAT)
Reports to: Chief Product Officer
Direct Reports: 5 Senior Product Managers, 1 Staff Product Manager
Key Partners: Director of Engineering, Director of Design, Director of Marketing, Director of Demand Generation, Director of Customer Success, CTO, CRO, Head of Data Analytics
