About the role

Haringey is seeking a forward-thinking and motivated procurement professional to join our Strategic Procurement team. This role will support the delivery of high-quality, compliant, and value-driven procurement across key service areas includingHuman Resources (HR),Facilities Management (Soft Services), andInformation Technology (IT). You will play a pivotal role in driving innovation, embedding sustainable procurement practices, and ensuring that all procurement activity aligns with the Council's strategic objectives and regulatory requirements.

This role sits within strategic procurement specifically the supplies and services team and reports to the procurement manager. The procurement team plays a crucial role in ensuring that contracts and collaborations deliver added value while supporting the local economy. The team is made up of the head of supply chain, 1 x procurement manager, 2 x procurement officer and an apprentice.

About you

We are seeking a highly motivated and knowledgeable procurement professional to join our Strategic Procurement team within the Supplies and Services division. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in procurement, with demonstrable experience in managing procurement activities across supplies and services. A thorough understanding of public sector procurement legislation, including the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 and the Procurement Act 2023, is essential. The successful individual will be expected to manage multiple procurement projects simultaneously, often working at pace and under pressure, while maintaining a high standard of compliance and service delivery. The role requires someone who is proactive, responsive, and capable of working with minimal supervision. Applicants should hold professional membership of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS).
