Procurement Manager Vacancy

  • Annual Salary: £55k - £60k per annum
  • Location: Watford, Hertfordshire
  • Job Type: Full-time (Onsite)

We are seeking a Procurement Manager to lead and develop our procurement function, ensuring alignment with our Operations Plan and overall business objectives. This role is pivotal in managing supplier performance, cost control, and stock availability. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, with a strong commercial focus, adept at supplier negotiation, inventory management, and cross-functional support.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Develop and implement effective procurement strategies that align with business needs.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and service levels, and manage supplier relationships.
  • Oversee inventory purchasing to maintain optimal stock levels and support service levels.
  • Manage procurement budgets, including stock holding, capital expenditure, and supplier rebates.
  • Review and recommend improvements to procurement systems and processes.
  • Collaborate with various internal teams to forecast purchasing requirements and support business objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and ethical sourcing standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in procurement, supply chain, or a related senior role within an engineering, manufacturing environment.
  • Strong skills in supplier negotiation, contract management, and international procurement.
  • Experience with ERP, MRP, and stock control systems.
  • Knowledge of inventory management, supply chain principles, and purchasing processes.
  • Chartered MCIPS status, or active progression towards Chartered status would be advantageous.
  • Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Logistics, or a related discipline is desirable.
  • Excellent negotiation, commercial awareness, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office.
