Join Acorn and Make an ImpactWe are looking for an experienced Procurement Manager to join our team in Slough. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will play a key role in ensuring the timely, cost-effective, and compliant procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontracted services that support our operational service delivery.
This is an excellent opportunity for a procurement professional with experience in the building services, facilities management, construction, or a related industry who is passionate about supplier management, commercial negotiation, and driving value across the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities- Lead procurement activities to support operational service delivery.
- Source, negotiate, and manage suppliers and subcontractors.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, monitoring performance against agreed standards.
- Manage the onboarding of new suppliers.
- Ensure availability of materials, plant, and services for maintenance and project delivery.
- Resolve supplier issues and support escalations when required.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve supply chain efficiency.
- Act as the primary contact for engagement with the Group Procurement Team.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with Group Procurement Policy and governance requirements.
- Maintain accurate procurement and supplier records and provide regular updates to senior leadership.
Proven procurement or supply chain management experience within a relevant industry
Experience managing suppliers and subcontractors and negotiating commercial agreements
Strong commercial awareness and cost management skills
Knowledge of supplier performance management and contract administration
Excellent stakeholder management and business partnering capability
Strong organisational, analytical, and communication skills
Data-driven approach to decision-making
Strong IT skills, including Excel and procurement/reporting systems
Experience within building services, facilities management, or construction sectors
Experience working within structured procurement environments
CIPS qualification (or working towards)
Business, commercial, or supply chain qualification
