Location:We have hybrid working in place, with 1-2 days per week, in our office in Canary Wharf.

What exactly will you be doing?

As the Procurement Manager, you will contribute to the success of the procurement team by overseeing the planning, tendering, and on/off boarding of suppliers. You will complete annual due diligence of AAT suppliers to ensure they continue to meet AAT prerequisites of financial viability and adhere to policies and administration of relevant insurance levels. Additionally, you will recommend consolidation or deconsolidation of suppliers, deliver continuous improvement of supplier management by adapting to business needs and best practices, and deliver long-term value to AAT.

Major objectives

Your major objectives will include:

  • Manage contract renewals and retenders, ensuring cost savings, effective lifecycle management, and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Collaborate closely with budget holders to identify and consolidate low-level suppliers, enhancing efficiency and reducing costs.
  • Present detailed monthly reports on spend, contract life cycle, and rolling annual reviews to provide insights and support decision-making.
  • Promote and enhance the profile of Procurement within AAT, ensuring adherence to Procurement Policies and fostering a culture of excellence.
  • Adapt current procurement processes to better meet evolving business needs and industry best practices.
  • Organise and manage full tenders, benchmarking, and single-source supplier recommendations to ensure optimal supplier selection.
  • Support the annual insurance renewal process, ensuring compliance, adequate coverage, and risk management.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the procurement department, encouraging teamwork and continuous improvement.

What are we looking for?

  • Demonstrate best practices in procurement, contracting, and stakeholder management.
  • Possess over 3 years of relevant procurement knowledge and contract management skills.
  • Exhibit clear written and verbal communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Show excellent attention to detail and knowledge of procurement software and decentralised procurement.
  • Build effective relationships with stakeholders such as AAT employees and suppliers, prioritising a varied and dynamic workload.
  • Engage in data manipulation, assessment of outcomes, and supplier engagement.
  • Confidently manage extensive data and navigate complex business scenarios, leveraging a solid understanding of legal and financial knowledge.
  • Be highly self-motivated, proactive, commercially astute, and possess a passion for procurement excellence.
