Job Description

This role that you are applying for will be working for KINTO-UK Ltd, a Mobility Brand owned by the Toyota Group, with offices located in Portsmouth. KINTO-UK shares its HR function with Toyota Financial Services (TFS) in the UK; however, the advertised job will not involve working directly for Toyota Financial Services.

The role in a nutshell: This position provides governance, oversight, and monitoring of procurement and vendor management activities. It offers the opportunity to collaborate with various areas of the business and the wider Toyota group.

About the 'Function': As a business that delivers services through third-party partners, the procurement function is essential for guiding and overseeing procurement and vendor management activities across the organization. This function is part of the legal, risk, and compliance department, which is a collaborative, forward-thinking, and friendly team.

What you'll be doing:

  1. Engaging with business leaders to understand current processes and assess compliance, then identifying improvements and efficiencies as you familiarize yourself with the business.
  2. Establishing and maturing procurement processes, including:
  3. Providing governance and oversight of vendor management processes.
  4. Creating effective onboarding procedures for suppliers.
  5. Enhancing supplier evaluation and due diligence processes.
  6. Implementing the One Trust Vendor Management Module as platform owner.
  7. Identifying when the business should tender for suppliers.
  8. Standardizing procurement methods and ensuring consistency.
  9. Incorporating risk management into vendor processes.
  10. Developing cost-effective purchasing strategies.
  11. Implementing waste reduction and sub-contractor performance optimization strategies.
  12. Ensuring compliance with policies, standards, and regulations.
  13. Identifying opportunities for streamlined procurement across the UK Toyota Group.
  14. Providing regular reports on supply chain activities.
  15. Launching a procurement monitoring program.
  16. Chairing the Vendor Management Working Group.
  17. Coordinating and establishing vendor management training programs.

  • Proven track record in overseeing supplier processes and achieving cost efficiencies.
  • Ability to develop a compliant and effective procurement function.
  • Strong commercial and contract skills.
  • Experience managing multiple stakeholders.
  • Vendor performance management and relationship improvement skills.
  • CIPS qualification is desirable but not essential; a desire to attain further qualifications is encouraged.
