Role Title: Procurement Manager - ESG
We anticipate paying a salary of between £57,600 - £75,600 DOE.
Location: Derby, Warrington OR Manchester offices - Hybrid working flexibility.

We are now recruiting for the role of Procurement Manager - ESG to develop a global supply chain and create opportunities for the wider industry.
Role Purpose
Responsible for the delivery of our Social Value and sustainability strategies for procurement. Working with the wider Procurement teams to develop and implement sustainable procurement practices and achieve our Social Value and Sustainability objectives within our external Supply Chain.
Key Responsibilities
- Deployment of an ESG strategy that supports delivery of our key objectives.
- Rollout of our Supply Chain charter incorporating our social value targets and minimum supplier standards.
- Delivery of KPIs and quantifiable metrics that support customer offerings.
- Achievement of KPIs associated with the ESG strategy for Procurement & Supply Chain.
- Management of one direct report with potential to grow aligned with business growth.
What We Are Looking For
Ability to implement strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and commitments, as well as legal and regulatory requirements. Demonstrable knowledge of regulatory and legal requirements to support delivery of Sustainability and Social Value targets.
Deep knowledge and understanding of ESG issues, including familiarity with sustainability frameworks (UK and global), environmental regulations, ethical labor practices, and social responsibility standards. Ability to monitor industry trends and emerging sustainability issues to ensure appropriate actions to mitigate risks to business delivery.
Experience of using ESG platforms such as Ecovadis, utilizing output data to assess needs, identify capability gaps, and build plans for improvement to track progress against goals. Ability to quantify data for accurate and timely reporting on environmental impacts and supply chain risks.
Ability to work cross-functionally to ensure delivery of targets and goals, collaborating with internal stakeholders such as HSE, Quality, Supplier Development, and the wider Procurement team.
Building relationships with suppliers and external partners such as chambers of commerce, providing support to ensure achievement of goals. Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills are required.
Acting as 'social value champion' to support smaller organisations (SMEs) in their journey to meet ESG targets. Experience in supporting teams or organizations in implementing change or driving development/improvement plans.
Experience of identifying opportunities and implementing changes without detrimental impact on the organization.
Beneficial Training or/and Qualifications
MCIPS preferred. Additional ESG professional development courses are advantageous, such as:
- CFA Institute Certificate in Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Sustainability Reporting Certification
- CDP Climate Change Course
- PRI Academy's ESG Integration Course
- International Association for Sustainable Economy (IASE)
