Carr Golf Maintenance is currently looking to recruit a Procurement Executive, on a fixed term contract, initially to cover a period of maternity leave for 1 year from mid June. This role is based in our HQ at Parkwest Business Park, Dublin 12 however, infrequent national travel will be required once a quarter.

The Procurement Executive will be responsible for cost-effectively purchasing inputs and supplies for over 25 golf course maintenance operations based in Ireland & UK managing supplier relationships, working closely with the finance department on budget controls and reconciliations.
Job SummaryThe Procurement Executive oversees sourcing to optimize costs, manage risks, and ensure a seamless supply chain for each golf course. You will oversee the end-to-end purchasing process, from requisition to payment, often supporting multiple business units across the company.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Sourcing & Negotiation: Work with the team to implement sourcing strategies for goods/services, negotiating with suppliers for the best price, quality, and delivery terms.
- Supplier Relationship Management (SRM): Build and maintain relationships with vendors, evaluating their performance against quality and reliability standards.
- Budgeting & Cost Control: Monitor spending to ensure alignment with budget guidelines, targeting cost-saving opportunities and reducing operational expenditures.
- Inventory & Logistics: Monitor stock levels of operational items, to include quarterly stock takes at client courses, while managing and overseeing general stock at HQ and stock transfers to sites.
- Compliance & Risk Mitigation: Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, and arrange training for team members.
- Technology Utilisation: Utilise procurement management software to streamline processes and analyse purchasing data.
- Team Leadership: Work closely with Regional Superintendents, Plant & Machinery Manager and Head Greenkeepers to ensure efficient supply of goods.
- Education: Relevant qualification in procurement or related field.
- Experience: Proven experience in a procurement role or department.
- Skills:
- Negotiation & Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build partnerships and secure advantageous terms.
- Analytical Ability: Strong data analysis skills to evaluate supplier performance and market trends.
- Leadership: Experience in managing and mentoring team members.
- Technology: Experience using IT systems to manage the procurement process, budget control and financial reporting.
- Knowledge: Understanding of the golf industry would be an advantage.
