Job Description

Do you have recent procurement experience supporting a broad range of indirect categories? We're seeking a Category Manager to join our Procurement team on a 9-12 month fixed-term contract. You'll be responsible for managing and implementing the UK and Ireland (UK&I) Procurement strategy within the agreed scope, using Category Management Processes and in accordance with the defined RACI with the team.

You'll aim to increase efficiency, ensure compliance with FCA/PRA requirements, reduce costs, and adhere to best practices. This role offers a great opportunity to contribute to and develop our business functions, ensuring supplier relationships comply with FCA/PRA standards and business risks are mitigated.

At AXA, we promote a flexible work environment, empowering our people to balance their time between home and office in a way that suits them, their team, and our customers. You will work at least 40% of your week away from home, increasing to the majority of your workweek from September 2025. 'Away from home' includes attending our office locations, visiting clients, or industry events.

What you'll be doing:
  1. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather, assess, and challenge business requirements, aiming to preserve relationships and achieve optimal commercial results.
  2. Coordinate the delivery of processes and initiatives, establishing best-in-class policies, processes, or services.
  3. Build the Category Strategy where not supported by a Global Category Manager and deliver this strategy.
  4. Manage the UK&I Procurement process, policies, and procedures (e.g., RFP, RFI) in line with local and Group requirements.
  5. Negotiate and implement contracts for AXA-UK Categories, ensuring compliance with service, performance, quality, and delivery standards, and proactively manage commercial and contractual risks with suppliers.
  6. Understand the budget approach (expenses, contracts, suppliers) with Finance and business budget owners to ensure proper budget management, utilization, and compliance.
  7. Utilize procurement tools and best practices to increase efficiency, improve delivery quality, and contribute to savings and KPI objectives.
What you'll bring:
  • Recent procurement experience supporting a broad range of indirect categories.
  • A team-oriented mindset focused on the success and respect within the procurement team across functions.

Applicants must be eligible and authorized to work in the United Kingdom.

Internal candidates are encouraged to apply via the internal careers site for secondment opportunities.
