About the Job

Better Cotton is seeking a Procurement & Contracting Officer to support the Procurement workstream. We are looking for an enthusiastic, detail-oriented individual eager to make a difference and support staff effectively.

The Challenge

Our 2030 goals include reducing GHG emissions from cotton by half, decreasing synthetic pesticide use, improving soil health, increasing farm income, and empowering women farmers and workers.

As Procurement & Contracting Officer, you will be part of the Global Operations Team, supporting daily operations and process improvements.

Responsibilities
  1. Assist in implementing procurement processes and policies, reviewing documentation, and identifying areas for improvement.
  2. Lead contracting for procurements under 50,000 EUR and support high-value procurement processes.
  3. Monitor internal support requests via Procurement Tools.
  4. Coordinate with the India Procurement Officer on RFPs & RFI queries and act as liaison with technical leads and suppliers.
  5. Guide staff on policies and updates through the Global Operations Page.
  6. Support content creation for the Operations Page and provide staff training.
  7. Participate in new starter procurement inductions and team trainings.
  8. Onboard new suppliers, manage procurement documentation, and review agreements.
Qualifications
  • Experience in administration or relevant roles.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in English; knowledge of additional languages and CIPS qualification are a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.
  • Experience in procurement, ideally in an NGO context, and familiarity with Microsoft 365.
  • Interest in sustainability and working with diverse cultures.

Working Arrangements

Full-time, 40 hours/week, based in London, with flexible hours (10 am - 4 pm core).
