Job Description

An award-winning, international financial planning and investment management organisation is seeking an experienced Private Client Advice Business Assurance Analyst to join its growing UK advice function.

This role would suit an experienced Paraplanner or suitability reviewer who is interested in developing a longer-term career within the regulatory, governance, and assurance side of financial advice, while remaining close to high-quality client outcomes.

The firm provides regulated financial and investment advice to high-net-worth private clients and institutions and manages significant assets globally. Continued growth across the UK and Europe offers strong long-term career development opportunities.

The Role

You will be responsible for reviewing and assessing the suitability of financial advice provided to private clients, ensuring recommendations are compliant, appropriate, and in clients' best interests.

Products reviewed include:

  • Money Purchase Pensions
  • ISAs
  • General Investment Accounts
  • Onshore and Offshore Investment Bonds
  • Trusts

Key responsibilities:

  • Review suitability reports in line with FCA COBS requirements
  • Ensure advice meets internal standards and regulatory expectations
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to obtain clarification where required
  • Provide constructive feedback to report writers
  • Identify trends, risks, and areas for improvement
  • Contribute to process enhancements and best practice
  • Participate in review meetings and discussions with senior stakeholders

Candidate Profile

  • Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning (DipPFS or equivalent) - essential
  • Experience reviewing or producing suitability reports for retail clients
  • Strong understanding of FCA suitability and regulatory requirements
  • Solid grounding in financial planning principles (pensions experience preferred)
  • Ability to communicate complex issues clearly in writing and verbally
  • Level 6 / Chartered status or AF3/G60 (PTS) desirable but not essential

This role is particularly well suited to a senior Paraplanner or File Checker looking to move into a dedicated assurance and regulatory-focused position.

  • Base salary: Up to £67,000 (flexible depending on experience)
