Job Description

Private Chef (Fixed-Term Aug - Dec) UHNW Private Family Fitzrovia, Central London
Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 per annum (pro rata for the fixed-term contract)
Location: Fitzrovia, Central London
Contract: Fixed-term from 24th August 2026 - 12th December 2026

Leaman Consulting is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our lovely returning UHNW client, who is seeking an experienced and passionate Private Chef to join their fully staffed household in the heart of Fitzrovia.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a chef who genuinely enjoys creating fresh, nutritious family food whilst also relishing the opportunity to showcase their creativity through elegant entertaining. Initially offered as a fixed-term contract, this position has the potential to become a long-term, permanent opportunity for the right candidate.
The family are also preparing to welcome a new baby in late September, making this an exciting and busy period within the household. They are looking for a calm, organised and adaptable chef who will thrive in a dynamic family environment and become a valued member of their close-knit team.

The Family
The household consists of two principals, their two young children (aged 7 and 4), with a new baby due at the end of September, together with two nannies and an established household team.
Breakfast is prepared by the house staff, with the Private Chef responsible for preparing daily lunches and dinners for the family and nannies, together with occasional entertaining.
The family's cuisine is varied, international and health-focused. Meals are centred around fresh, seasonal ingredients with an emphasis on lean proteins, fish, quality meats, vibrant salads and creative vegetable dishes. Their style of eating leans towards a healthy, lower-carbohydrate approach with minimal use of refined sugar.

The principals particularly enjoy a wide variety of cuisines including Italian, Brazilian and Indian food and appreciate authentic cooking from around the world. They value chefs who are passionate about continually developing their culinary skills and bringing fresh ideas to the table.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare healthy, balanced lunches and dinners each day.
  • Cater for the principals, children, nannies and occasional additional guests.
  • Plan varied seasonal menus reflecting the family's tastes and nutritional preferences.
  • Design creative menus for entertaining and special occasions.
  • Manage all food purchasing, supplier relationships and stock control.
  • Receive, organise and correctly store all deliveries.
  • Take full ownership of kitchen organisation, cleanliness and food hygiene.
  • Maintain the kitchen to impeccable standards at all times.
  • Assist with family meal service where appropriate.
  • Work collaboratively with the household team, coordinating service in a supportive and respectful manner.
  • Lead by example, working alongside the housekeepers rather than directing them, fostering a positive team environment.
  • Designing and preparing bespoke menus for wine tasting evenings (typically around eight guests), working alongside a professional sommelier.
  • Catering for elegant dinner parties for up to 16 guests.
  • Preparing fun, high-quality food for children's birthday parties and playdates.
  • Delivering consistently high standards of presentation, flavour and service for every occasion.

Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will be:

  • An experienced Private Chef with previous UHNW or HNW household experience.
  • Passionate about healthy, balanced cooking using fresh, seasonal ingredients.
  • Confident across a broad range of international cuisines, particularly Italian, Brazilian, Indian and modern European.
  • Equally comfortable preparing relaxed family meals and sophisticated dinner party menus.
  • Highly organised, proactive and capable of independently managing a busy private kitchen.
  • Meticulous regarding food hygiene, organisation and presentation.
  • Calm, discreet and adaptable, with excellent attention to detail.
  • A genuinely kind, collaborative team player who enjoys becoming part of a professional household.

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday: 10:30am - 7:30pm.
  • Flexibility is essential, particularly when the family are hosting dinner parties or entertaining.
  • Every other weekend, working either Saturday or Sunday, with the specific day agreed with the Principal at least one month in advance.

This is a wonderful opportunity for an accomplished Private Chef seeking a varied role within a warm and welcoming UHNW household, with the prospect of progressing into a long-term position from early 2027.
