The role will support the Group Data Protection Officer in strategy definition, data protection governance, data protection training and the delivery of the Data Protection Programme.To achieve this, the Privacy Manager will, as a recognised subject matter expert, be responsible for education and awareness, embedding Privacy by Design across the organisation, reviewing, updating and sometimes creating Policies, integrating key processes such as Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), Legitimate Interest Assessments (LIAs) and Records of Processing Activities (ROPA) into Business as Usual (BAU) processes. In addition to liaising with IT/IS, data architects and the delivery teams you will be supporting the wider operational needs of the privacy team by implementing tactical solutions wherever necessary.What you'll doYou'll take ownership of work that gives us our competitive edge, including:Maintaining an expert knowledge of all relevant legislation, regulation, industry guidelines and technical documentsActing as a subject matter expert for all Data Protection issuesMaintaining a broad understanding of compliance processes such as AML and Responsible Gambling processesProviding the business with commercially aware advice and support, based on expert knowledge, industry best practice and empirical evidenceCreating and maintaining documented processes, procedures and training materials for staff education and awareness across the groupDelivering training across the groupUpdating and creating policiesWorking with Group Data Protection Officer to develop the privacy function in the UK, Spain, Malta and anywhere else we operateCreating and developing GAP analyses relevant to countries in which we operateEmbedding Privacy by Design across the organisationProviding support to the team on DPIAs, data subject rights requests, record of processing activities and any other BAU activityWorking with the Group Data Protection Officer on incident/breach managementThe management of key stakeholders and business owners required to deliver appropriate business and technical controlsAssisting the Group Data Protection Officer with strategy creationAssisting the Group Data Protection Officer in identifying and managing risks relating to personal dataProviding expert input into 3rd party assurance, data governance and data protection projects.Creating and maintaining internal records and logs of control status, overall compliance levels, consent management and Records of Processing ActivitiesWorking closely with the IT/IS teams to ensure we meet requirements of Article 32 of GDPR.Being a proactive advocate and brand ambassador of the Privacy Programme across the business and push for the delivery of its objectivesAssisting in ad hoc duties as and when requiredThis list covers your core responsibilities - with plenty of room to stretch, explore and take on new challenges as we grow.What you'll bringYou're someone who brings:Clear, confident communication (written and verbal), and the ability to breakdown complex ideasA collaborative mindset, working smoothly with cross functional teams to hit shared goalsStrong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects without dropping the ballExceptional attention to detail and a commitment to high quality workAdaptability - you stay sharp, productive and positive in fast moving environmentsCIPP/E and possibly CIPM accreditationExperience providing specialised training to stakeholders and colleagues across all levels of the businessExperience running incident or breach risk assessments and advising on remedial actionExperience using and configuring a third-party privacy programme softwareExceptional attention to detail & accuracy in all aspects of the role in high pressure and time constrained working environmentsAbility to create and document operational processes and proceduresStakeholder management experienceExperience of leading data protection projectsKnowledge of the Information Security or Cyber Security domains, whilst always putting privacy first.Experience in monitoring data protection controls and identification of risksAn interest in the gambling sector and the challenges unique to an online operatorDesirable skills you've got up your sleeveIt would be great if you also have some the following skills:In-depth knowledge of sports betting markets, including odds calculation, betting types and market trendsPrevious experience in the online gaming or casino industry, with a strong understanding of player behaviour and industry regulationsFamiliarity with gambling regulations and compliance requirements in various jurisdictions, ensuring adherence to legal standardsExperience in developing and executing customer retention strategiesRelevant degree such as in law or regulation.Experience of working in the gambling sector or for a regulatory bodyIn-depth experience in defining and delivering business transformation and remediationExperience with architectural frameworksKnowledge of industry standards such as ISO27001/2, 27702Good understanding of project and programme methodologiesAbility to be creative and able to find innovative solutions to problemsKnowledge of wider regulatory requirements such as gambling regulation and AML regulationsKnowledge of auditing and 3rd party assuranceKnowledge of data governance best practicesOur values are non-negotiablesOur culture is underpinned by core values that are linked to key behavioural competencies.
