Prison Catering: Caterer - HMP Werrington

The role is within the prison catering team in Stoke-on-Trent. Your main responsibility is to safeguard and promote the welfare of children, work within the safeguarding policies and oversee offenders to prepare and cook quality, nutritional meals for the entire prison while supporting them to learn new skills and improve their future employment prospects.
Responsibilities• Safeguard children and uphold all safeguarding policies.
• Oversee meal preparation and cooking for offenders in a professional industrial kitchen.
• Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are met.
• Support offenders in developing skills and working towards qualifications.
Qualifications and ExperienceRequired qualifications
- Level 2 certificate in food production within hospitality and catering or equivalent.
- Food hygiene certificate at Level 2.
Additional requirements
- Familiar with health, safety and hygiene regulations for kitchen work.
- Demonstrated competency within an industrial kitchen environment.
- Proficient in spoken English.
- Completion of refresher food safety (HACCP) training at three year intervals.

Work a 37 hour week Monday to Friday, core day hours only. Hybrid working may be offered where business need allows; the role must be based in the UK.
CompensationSalary: £29,107 - £30,648 per annum.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old. This role is open to:
- UK nationals.
- Nationals of the Republic of Ireland.
- Nationals of Commonwealth countries with right to work in the UK.
- Nationals of the EU, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein and family members with settled or pre settled status under the European Union Settlement Scheme (EUSS).
- Individuals with limited or indefinite leave to remain who were eligible for EUSS on or before 31 Dec 2020.
- Turkish nationals and certain family members who have accrued the right to work in the Civil Service.
