As a Principal / Associate Civil Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in leading innovative infrastructure projects, managing a growing team, and delivering high quality design solutions that make a tangible impact across the North West.
You'll be joining a forward thinking consultancy that's expanding rapidly due to new framework wins and continued success across the private and public sectors. If you're seeking a balance between hands on technical design and strategic team leadership, this opportunity offers the perfect mix.

What you'll be doing

  • Spend approximately 50% of your time on technical design and 50% managing project teams and client relationships.
  • Oversee the production of detailed infrastructure designs, including highways and drainage, using the latest design tools such as Autodesk Civils 3D, MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage, and PDS.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to engineers and technicians within the team.
  • Manage budgets, resourcing, and project delivery schedules to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Engage directly with clients, stakeholders, and local authorities, influencing master planning and sustainable infrastructure solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and design standards, including the Highways Act 1980, Water Industry Act 2004, and Land Drainage Act.
What you'll bring
  • A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status (CEng, IEng, MICE, or equivalent).
  • Strong technical background in highway and drainage design, with knowledge of SuDS principles and relevant codes of practice.
  • Proven experience projects, and client relationships within a consultancy environment.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem solving skills.
  • A proactive, collaborative, and hands on approach to technical delivery and team development.
What's in it for you
  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience, with regular reviews and 2x bonus per year.
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including pension and professional development support.
  • Career progression opportunities to further leadership positions as the team expands.
  • A supportive culture that values collaboration, innovation, and work life balance.
