The RoleAs a Solution Consultant for Geological Modeling within AspenTech's Subsurface Science and Engineering software suite, you will partner with sales teams during the sales cycle to lead in the consultative discovery process with customers. Your responsibilities include crafting a vision and roadmap for solutions that meet customer requirements, identifying value capture potential, and designing implementation and sustainment programs. This role requires a deep understanding of AspenTech's product strategy, value enablers, professional services, and partner capabilities to drive opportunities that deliver significant business value.
The Principal Solution Consultant will deliver high-quality solutions based on AspenTech products, contributing to the design of complete solutions across project lifecycles-from pre-sales to delivery. You will primarily work with AspenTech's Geological Modeling suites, SKUA and RMS. This customer-facing role demands self-motivation, excellent business, industry, and technical knowledge, along with strong consultative and communication skills to effectively position AspenTech solutions.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in software or technology sales and consulting, with the ability to connect technology to measurable business value at the intersection of technology and business.
Your Impact- Develop industry- and application-specific solutions for customers, leading value discovery sessions, assessing needs, and developing solutions.
- Understand prospective customers' critical business issues to present AspenTech's capabilities as the best solution.
- Build customer-specific solutions on the AspenTech platform using available tools.
- Create recommendations, proposals, and scope of work documents for consulting engagements, identifying dependencies and gaps.
- Advise customers on relevant solutions and services, establishing a credible value proposition.
- Develop and execute sales campaigns with the sales team.
- Identify and qualify business opportunities, understand technical challenges, and develop solutions to meet business needs.
- Support pipeline development and sales execution in assigned accounts and opportunities.
- Experience in consulting, pre-sales, or professional services using subsurface geomodelling software for static reservoir modeling (O&G, Geothermal, CCS, Upstream).
- Strong understanding of geomodelling workflows and ability to discuss these with potential customers.
- Specialization in geological modeling, including structural and static property modeling, and dynamic simulations linkage.
- Strong drive to solve customer problems and close pipeline opportunities.
- Balance of business and technical acumen, with ability to articulate solutions and their value.
- Outstanding problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Willingness to travel approximately 40%.
