The Opportunity

HERO Recruitment is hiring a Principal Recruitment Consultant to join our Galway Engineering division.

We are looking for an experienced Principal Recruitment Consultant who can strengthen our Engineering recruitment offering across our permanent recruitment markets. This role will suit someone who combines excellent delivery capability with a genuine appetite for business development.

You will work closely with key accounts, manage Preferred Supplier Lists (PSLs), and develop long term relationships with SME and multinational clients across Ireland's Engineering, Manufacturing, MedTech, Life Sciences and Technology led sectors. You will place senior level Engineering candidates, deliver a high quality client and candidate experience, and help identify new commercial opportunities for HERO.

Business development is central to this role. We are looking for someone who can open doors, build credibility with engineering leaders and hiring managers, convert conversations into recruitment partnerships, and grow existing accounts through trusted advice and consistent delivery.

What You Will Do

• Develop and manage client relationships across the Irish Engineering and STEM market.
• Build and manage PSL and key account relationships with SME and multinational clients.
• Drive new business conversations and contribute to revenue growth within the Engineering division.
• Source, engage and represent high quality Engineering talent across areas such as Manufacturing, MedTech, Automation, Quality, Validation, Process, Mechanical, Electrical, Controls and Project Engineering.
• Advise clients on market conditions, talent availability, salary expectations and hiring strategies.
• Deliver an excellent candidate and client experience from first conversation to successful placement.
• Work with the wider HERO team to share market insight, leads and best practice.

We Are Looking For

• 5+ years' experience in recruitment, ideally within Engineering, Manufacturing, Life Sciences, Science or wider STEM disciplines.
• A strong Irish market network across Engineering clients and candidates.
• A proven record in 360 degree recruitment, including business development, account growth and delivery.
• Confidence managing senior client relationships and advising on talent solutions.
• Strong sourcing, social media and candidate engagement skills.
• A genuine, honest and authentic communication style.
• Commercial curiosity, resilience and the drive to build lasting business partnerships.
• A collaborative mindset and positive approach to working as part of a high performing team.

Experience from Engineering, Manufacturing, Science or technical commercial backgrounds with strong customer focus and commercial drive is also welcomed.
