Principal Policy and Programme Officer (Humanitarian Response) -Mayor of London

Overview

The GLA's migration team seeks an experienced senior officer to lead London's approach to responding to new arrivals who have sought sanctuary in London. The role will have a system leadership remit at a senior level to lead urgent response work and to resolve issues affecting the welcome and integration of new arrivals, while establishing a new team to create system change that strengthens London's resilience and promotes inclusive recovery.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead senior level system leadership to resolve issues impacting the welcome and integration of new arrivals who have sought sanctuary.
• Oversee a connected portfolio of work and establish a new team for system change.
• Develop policies or projects within a political environment, including the Ukraine Sponsorship Scheme.

Qualifications & Experience

• Excellent understanding of the policy issues impacting people who have sought sanctuary.
• Experience of developing policy or projects within a political environment.
• Capable of working in hybrid mode at London Fire Brigade Head Office.
