Principal Network Engineer

I'm currently partnering with a leading global organisation to find a Principal Network Engineer to join their team in Ireland (Cork or Dublin). This is a senior, hands on role with real impact - perfect for someone who thrives in complex, high-scale environments.

• Designing and delivering resilient data centre, campus, and WAN network solutions
• Driving large scale network initiatives from design through to Day 2 operations
• Leading troubleshooting and root cause analysis for critical issues
• Collaborating across infrastructure, cloud, and security teams to deliver end to end solutions
• Ensuring robust monitoring, scalability, and operational readiness

• 12-15 years' experience across enterprise networking (DC, campus, WAN, hybrid cloud)
• Strong expertise in routing & switching (BGP, OSPF, EVPN/VXLAN)
• Experience with Cisco, Arista, HPE, or Aruba technologies
• Solid understanding of network security principles and high availability design
• CCNP (or higher) preferred
• Proven ability to lead complex technical initiatives and influence stakeholders
• Nice to have: SD WAN, network automation, F5, VPN, or NAC solutions (ISE/ClearPass)
