Job Description
Principal Mechanical Engineer

Imagine being the go-to mechanical expert in a rapidly growing engineering team, trusted to make decisions, shape design culture, and bring technically innovative products to life. This is a unique opportunity to work on highly complex, high-spec electro mechanical systems that push the boundaries of engineering.

You will lead the mechanical design and development of products from initial concept through CAD modelling, testing, iteration, and production. You will remain hands on, solving technical challenges creatively, applying your expertise, and mentoring others as the team grows.

Autonomy is real in this role. You will be trusted to make decisions without red tape, balancing risk, speed, and quality, while collaborating with colleagues across electronics, software, and systems disciplines to deliver fully integrated solutions. You will see the full product lifecycle, designing entire systems rather than just components, and helping shape engineering standards for the future.

The environment is start up in spirit but secure in reality. With ambitious expansion plans, a team that is scaling fast, and multiple new products on the horizon, you will be at the heart of growth and innovation. You will join a small, passionate team where every contribution matters, and you will see the direct impact of your work on the success of the business and the products in the field.

Skills and Experience We Are Looking For
  • Degree qualified Mechanical Engineer (2:1 or higher) with significant experience in complex products across the whole life cycle.
  • Expertise in full product lifecycles, from concept to production, ideally with electro mechanical systems.
  • Hands on experience with 3D CAD (Autodesk Inventor preferred) and FEA (Ansys desirable).
  • Strong problem solving skills and the ability to work autonomously in a fast paced, agile environment.
  • Experience mentoring others and shaping engineering best practice across a team.
  • Ability to make confident engineering decisions, balancing risk, speed, and quality.
  • Comfortable collaborating with electronics, software, and systems engineers to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines and budgets.

The company will support relocation. It is a site based role.
