Job Description
Wood is currently recruiting for a Principal Instrument Engineer on a contract basis, working outside IR35 with hybrid working (3 days per week) in our Aberdeen Office. We have opportunities on several large standalone projects and on/offshore modification scopes. Our clients include some of the largest global operators within the energy industry, offering long-term project opportunities. 
Responsibilities:
- Provide instrument engineering support to the client contract as required.
- Execute assigned work in accordance with applicable contract procedures, client, and project standards.
- Originate and check instrument engineering deliverables within budget and schedule.
- Maintain awareness of relevant regulatory frameworks, legislation changes, initiatives, and industry technology developments, and promote this knowledge to direct reports.
- Manage discipline CTRs, contribute to estimates, proposals, plans, and progress reports.
- Develop calculation packages as required.
- Perform site or client office visits if necessary.
- Present and describe engineering solutions and concepts competently to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Organise, plan, and coordinate own work and resources on specific projects.
- Support quality and technical assurance activities as needed.
Qualifications for Internal Candidates:
MSc, MEng, or equivalent professional qualification; or BSc, BEng, or equivalent with considerable relevant experience; or HNC/HND or equivalent with relevant considerable experience.
