The role:

Our client is seeking a Principal General Building Control Inspector (Class 2) to join the Planning, Licensing & Building Control Service for a 4-month assignment. This office-based role involves plan checking, site inspections, and overseeing public safety across a range of building types.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead plan assessments and inspections in line with Building Regulations
• Act as a technical expert for major construction projects
• Manage and support surveyors/engineers and develop junior staff
• Respond to dangerous structure incidents (including out-of-hours rota)

What the client is looking for:

• Degree-qualified with professional membership (MCABE, MRICS, etc.)
• Registered under the Government's Class 2 competency scheme
• Strong knowledge of Building Regulations and public safety legislation
• Local Authority or Approved Inspector experience essential

What the client offers:

• 4-month contract
• £45-£50 p/h
• 35 hours per week
• Office-based, Manchester (M60 2LA)
