Cornwallis Academy is a 'Good' school on the outskirts of Loose, Maidstone with over 1300 students on roll aged 11 to 18. Cornwallis' aim is to provide all students with the best educational provision.

Cornwallis Academy are seeking a Principal First Aider tojoin the school team from September 2025, the successful candidate will beresponsible for providing immediate and effective first aid, ensuring a promptresponse to medical emergencies, and contributing to the overall health andsafety of our school community. As the Principal First Aider, you will play avital role in creating a secure and supportive learning environment by offeringtimely and compassionate assistance to those in need. The successful candidatewill also be required to provide administrative support when not carrying outFirst Aid duties.

This role is 09:00-14:00 (25 hour per week), Monday toFriday. 38 weeks per year (term time only)

Main duties and responsibilities

• Give immediate help to casualties with common injuriesor illnesses and those arising from specific hazards.

• When necessary, make arrangements to call anambulance.

• Ensure that all first-aiders complete a first-aidtraining course approved by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).

• Monitor and arrange refresher courses andcertificate renewals for all first aiders.

• Liaise with the Deputy Headteacher - for incidentsinvolving emergency services on site.
