Principal Engineer (Hybrid Database Integration) - 6 months+ - Hybrid/Sheffield - Umbrella £550/£570

Are you a tech leader with deep expertise in databases and hybrid integration? We're looking for a Principal Engineer to join our client's Global Database Platform team. This is your chance as a contractor to influence technology strategy, drive engineering excellence, and shape next-generation services in a highly regulated environment.

The role:

• Lead, advise, and challenge teams on database architecture, hybrid integration, and cloud-native solutions.
• Drive adoption of DevOps best practices, from CI/CD to containerization and Kubernetes.
• Influence decisions using data-driven insights, ensuring services are resilient, secure, and highly available.
• Mentor and develop talented engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
• Collaborate across functions to design and deliver cutting-edge products and services.

To apply you should bring the following skills and experience:

• 5+ years Principal/Senior Engineering position
• SME in Hybrid Integration - Middleware, containerization, internal cloud, and streaming solutions (Kafka experience is ideal).
• Gravitas to lead and influence technical decisions at senior levels.
• Strong database expertise combined with solid engineering skills.
• Experience operating in highly regulated environments.
