The Role

A prominent, multidisciplinary consultancy is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to join its Manchester office. You will take a senior leadership role across a portfolio of commercial, residential, and public sector building projects, driving technical excellence and leading project teams from concept to completion.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer looking to influence design standards and mentor a growing electrical team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead electrical building services design, including LV distribution, lighting, power, emergency systems, and fire alarm systems

• Provide technical guidance and quality assurance across multiple projects

• Coordinate electrical design with mechanical, structural, and public health disciplines

• Mentor and develop senior and junior engineers

• Lead client-facing discussions and contribute to proposals and business development

• Ensure compliance with UK standards, building regulations, and sustainability targets

About You

• Degree qualified in Electrical or Building Services Engineering

• Chartered (CIBSE / IET) with significant principal-level experience

• Strong portfolio delivering commercial, residential, or public sector projects

• Proven ability to lead and motivate multidisciplinary project teams

• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills

• Commercially aware and able to support business growth
