Job Description
As a Principal Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for projects from concept to completion, bridging the gap between design and construction. You'll work on cutting edge installations and translate client needs into functional, future proof solutions. In this role, you'll manage multiple high impact projects, working across real estate, infrastructure and energy markets, in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Full responsibility in coordinating technical assignments
- Lead and oversee multiple projects through all phases of design within area of expertise
- Monitor and report on projects performance
- Cultivate and maintain client relationships
- Become trusted advisor to all clients in the field of energy
- Manage group of engineers that may be either located locally or internationally
- Provide design directions to the project teams and control design quality
- Take ownership on health and safety and ensure safety in design
- Contribute to work winning by defining optimal design delivery strategies and estimating manhours for the relevant disciplines
- Monitor the mobilization of resources in the relevant discipline and check continuously their adequacy
- Ensure the localization of the project, interpretation of Dutch legislation and code compliance when design delivered by an international AECOM office
- Develops technical strategies for proposals within area of expertise
- Perform the role of Electrical Lead Verifier including electrical design and specification reviews
- Support the business in developing and growing the MEP team
- Lead the design of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, scope, and timeline objectives.
- Coordinate design and permitting processes, guiding projects through all phases.
- Provide technical leadership and input within multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of construction costs and conduct safety focused risk assessments.
- Visit construction sites during the build phase to check compliance with designs and specifications.
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in project development, from concept design to construction management.
- Deep knowledge of national and international standards (IEC, NEN) and best practices for large scale project design.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary project teams with confidence and expertise.
- Experience with STABU and the ability to develop detailed technical specifications.
- Exceptional communication skills in Dutch and English, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Experience working in dynamic, fast changing environments and effectively managing client relationships and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Revit is a plus.
