Principal Digital Design Engineer

We are partnering with a leading global technology organisation to hire an experienced Principal Digital Design Engineer to join their growing team working on next-generation Automotive Microcontrollers. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute at a micro-architecture level, working on cutting-edge mixed-signal and DSP-based designs within a highly collaborative engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Define micro-architectures and develop designs for Automotive Microcontroller families, with a focus on mixed-signal IPs and DSP blocks
• Collaborate with architects to assess feasibility, refine ideas, and contribute to innovation
• Ensure quality checks (Lint, Synthesis, DFT, etc.) are completed using appropriate tools
• Work closely with design and verification teams to ensure high-quality delivery
• Mentor junior designers and provide ongoing technical guidance
• Analyse workloads to identify performance and power optimisation opportunities
• Collaborate with global teams, requiring strong communication and influencing skills

Requirements

• Degree in Electronic or Computer Engineering
• 10+ years' experience in digital micro-architecture and design
• Strong hands-on experience in RTL design and associated tool flows
• Experience with mixed-signal IP development and/or DSP block design
• Knowledge of Functional Safety and/or cybersecurity standards (ISO 26262, ISO 21434)
• Proficiency in digital design and HDL languages (Verilog, VHDL, SystemVerilog)
• Experience with Synthesis, Lint, CDC, RDC, and STA
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Perl or Python
• Fluent English with excellent communication skills
