Job Description

About the Role

The Principal Delivery Engineer is the liaison between the Delivery team, inclusive of the Engineering team based in the corporate office in London, and the Madrid data centre campus teams. As a Principal Delivery Engineer, you will provide oversight and coordination of projects from RIBA Stage 3 through to completion and handover, ensuring they meet all technical standards, and assisting the rest of the team to ensure they are within budget and on schedule. This position offers a unique opportunity to build relationships with internal parties as well as consultants and contractors, seeing projects through to real world installation and picking up numerous skills along the way.


Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure project compliance with industry standards, quality requirements and government / local authority regulations.
  • Play a leading role in the delivery of the and design and assist the consultants in achieving cost effective and resilient designs.
  • Provide technical support and guidance across all stages of the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct project reviews and create detailed reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Facilitate communication across project teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment and addressing any issues promptly.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation within projects.

Key Requirements

  • Excellent technical knowledge of data centre systems
  • Must have a mechanical bias
  • Strong experience in reviewing consultant design and contractor construction documentation to ensure compliance with the design briefs.
  • In-depth understanding of Uptime Institute's Tier requirements.
  • Experience in reviewing or producing tender documentation for data centre projects.
  • Experience in project commissioning is preferable but not essential.
