Principal Data Architect

Edinburgh - 2 days a week onsite

Permanent

£120,000 plus benefits such as 20% pension, 40 days holiday, private healthcare, share scheme and much more

iO Associates are working with an established reputable Private Investment company are on the lookout for an experienced Data Engineer to join them on a permanent basis

As the Lead Data Architect, you will own the technical design and delivery of data and software architecture, whilst embracing the latest technology. This is still very much a "hands on" technical role where you will also work closely with the stakeholders.

You will also play a pivotal role in strategic authority on data architecture across the organisation. You will define and evolve the enterprise-wide architecture that underpins analytics, reporting, and operational systems. You will set the vision for how data is structured, integrated, and governed, and lead the development of architectural standards, patterns, and principles that guide technical delivery across teams.

To be successful, you will have:

  • Several years of experience in Data Architecture
  • Expert in data architecture, software architecture and data model design.
  • Expert "hands on" experience with cloud data platforms (Microsoft Fabric as a preference) and modern data warehousing.
  • Deep proficiency in data modelling (conceptual, logical, physical) across relational, dimensional, and NoSQL paradigms.
  • Skilled in data integration, ETL/ELT design, and API-driven architectures.
  • Experience with data governance, metadata management, and master data management
