Job Title: Senior Engineer - Strategic Weapons Test Organisation

Location: Barrow-In-Furness (On-site)

What you'll be doing:

  • Carry out routine work with limited supervision & understand safety consequences in a high-risk environment
  • Liaise/Interface with relevant stakeholders to ensure activities are undertaken in a safe & compliant manner
  • Instruct & mentor less experienced members of the team within your knowledge & competency
  • Responsible for research, review & feedback of appropriate documentation to the required standard
  • Keep full and accurate records of work activities carried out as required by policy, procedure & legislation
  • Deputise for the relevant Commissioning Project Leader as and when required, including supervision of personnel on shift
  • Represent the Company on Contractors Sea Trials and other outworking requirements
  • Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of all relevant systems and a strong knowledge of other system interfaces

Your skills and experiences:

  • HNC/HND in an Engineering discipline or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrable experience in Test & Commissioning
  • Detailed understanding of Test & Commissioning processes
  • Experience in leading commissioning activities
  • Strong analytical skills and a keen ability to interpret complex data to drive informed decision-making

The Strategic Weapons Test Organisation Team:

As an experienced Mechanical Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring Test & Commissioning activities comply with Company Policies, Procedures, and Legislation. Responsibilities include leading activities on shift, acting as Commissioning Project Leader, and becoming a Subject Matter Expert on Test Section Systems. Relocation support packages are available for eligible roles across all Submarines roles.
