Principal Commercial Officer

This is a lovely position for an experienced Commercial Officer within the defence industry. Based in Stevenage they are a leader in their field and can offer a good long term career, within a lovely environment with excellent benefits.

Daily duties

• Winning business, new contracts, agreements and opportunities
• Contract delivery, being a vital part of the delivery chain that ensures promises made to customers are met, change management, problem solving and administration.
• Negotiations, supporting gaining acceptance and agreement issues and amendments.
• Building and maintaining relationships with new and existing customers and focusing on collaboration.
• Communicating with stakeholders of all levels.
• Reporting to management on progress
• Representing the commercial team in progress/reviews and customer meetings
• Day to day administration and maintenance of the commercial information systems.

What you will need to have

• Proven experience in the defence industry
• Experience of managing complex and high value contracts
• Experienced in a broad range of commercial issues and contact management and contact lifecycle.
• Understanding of liabilities and mitigating risk
• Awareness of import and export restrictions and licensing requirements
• Effective team behaviours working closely and influencing
• Good process and change management
• Ability to modify and draft terms and conditions
• Commercial understanding from customer through to supplier
