Ignite your passion for teaching and make a profound impact on students with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC)! We're searching for a dedicated and inspiring Qualified Teacher (QTS) to join an exceptional team at a leading independent special school near Horley, Surrey.

About the Opportunity

This isn't just a teaching job; it's a chance to be part of a nurturing and supportive environment where every student's potential is unlocked. Our school caters to children aged 6 to 19 with communication difficulties linked to ASC. We believe in providing a high-quality, personalised education that fosters not only academic achievement but also significant personal growth.

Your Mission

As a Qualified Teacher here, you'll be instrumental in delivering a tailored curriculum designed to meet the unique needs of each student. You'll collaborate closely with a multi-disciplinary team, including therapists and support staff, to craft a positive, engaging, and truly individualised learning experience. Your day will involve:

  • Planning, delivering, and assessing dynamic lessons that captivate and challenge.

  • Promoting crucial social and emotional development within a supportive framework.

  • Adapting teaching methods to perfectly match diverse learning styles.

  • Creating resourceful and engaging learning materials.

What We're Looking For
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.

  • Experience working with children with ASC and/or complex communication needs is highly desirable, though newly qualified teachers with a genuine passion for special education are strongly encouraged to apply.

  • A deep-seated commitment to inclusive education and an unwavering dedication to student well-being.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills that build rapport and foster understanding.

  • A creative and resourceful mindset to develop innovative teaching approaches.

  • Familiarity with the National Curriculum and various assessment methods is a plus.
