Primary SEND Teaching Assistant / SEND Primary Teaching Assistant

Mainstream primary school

Long-term role

Pay rate: £95 - £110 /per day (Depending on experience and qualifications)

Start date - 15th April 2024

A busy community primary school in the Hornchurch area are keen to employ primary SEND teaching assistant / SEND Primary Teaching Assistant who can engage, motivate, and inspire students.

This primary school are a three-form entry primary school in Hornchurch. They have suitable transport links directly to the school and free parking on site. This primary school are always taking care of their staff and are seeking SEND teaching assistants that understand the schools ethos and environment.

If you have a real passion of working with children with special educational needs, you're highly advised to apply for this position.

The primary SEND teaching assistant / SEND primary teaching assistant is a long-term role, with a view to becoming permanent for the right candidate.

The children that you will be potentially working with are very calm but lack a lot of confidence. Your aim will be to help these children with their learning and helping them improve their confidence and engagement to learning.

If you believe you are the ideal primary SEND teaching assistant / SEND primary teaching assistant, you will have:

  • Experience of working with children in a SEND environment would be an advantage.
  • The ability to use your own initiative and work independently.
  • A calm, kind, and nurturing approach.
  • Good knowledge of SEMH, ASD, ADHD, MLD and SPLD.
  • Ability to follow a structured ECHP plan and understand the support the pupils need.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Creating stimulating indoor and outdoor learning environments.
  • Offering a variety of visual and tactile resources to support learning.
  • Offering personalised provision for all pupils, including those with special educational needs
  • Supporting the teacher with lessons and ensuring a safe school environment when appropriate.
  • Communicating with parents, updating, and informing them about their child's learning development.
