Description

Baker Hicks has grown rapidly in the Transmission & Distribution sector over the last ten years and has been successful in winning major projects within the UK. As client demand for exceptional engineering design increases, we are seeking a Primary Substation Design Engineer.

The role reports to the Principal Substation Engineer - HV and is responsible for ensuring the quality and consistency of outputs in drawings and technical documents. You will also assist the Power Sector Director during the bid process to secure new work.

What You Will Do
  1. Design, calculations, reports, and drawings for HV substation projects from 11kV to 400kV, including primary design and engineering elements.
  2. Produce single line diagrams, primary layouts, technical specifications, and other deliverables.
  3. Apply your knowledge of maths and science, preferably from a power engineering background, and demonstrate good communication skills.
  4. Operate independently within a diverse team, demonstrating enthusiasm and maturity. This role offers opportunities for career development within BakerHicks.
