This post will provide additional capacity within the Press and Communications Unit to support the Unit's work for Ireland's EU Presidency. The postholder will support the planning, coordination and delivery of communications activity of the Unit's work overall including priorities related to the EU Presidency, working closely with colleagues across the Department and with key stakeholders as required. The role will involve managing competing priorities in a fast paced environment, producing high quality written material to short deadlines, and supporting an effective and coordinated communications response during the Presidency period.
Applicants should have relevant experience in communications, including experience in preparing media releases, drafting briefing documents and managing stakeholder engagement. Strong writing and editing skills, and the ability to work under tight deadlines, are essential. Experience in a public sector environment or with EU policy issues is desirable.
