A 4 year predoctoral training contract is offered to conduct a PhD thesis at the Centre for Metabolomics and Bioanalysis (CEMBIO), Faculty of Pharmacy, San Pablo CEU University, within the framework of the research project:

"ADVANCED DEVELOPMENTS AND STRATEGIES TO ADDRESS CURRENT CHALLENGES: UNVEILING THE HIDDEN INFORMATION IN METABOLOMICS (CHALLENGEMET)",whose objective is to improve and consolidate analytical methodology, expand the amount of information obtained, and enhance the understanding of underlying biological mechanisms in health and disease through metabolomics and lipidomics.

Main Responsibilities

• Carrying out research activities related to the project: preparation of biological samples and metabolite analysis using mass spectrometry coupled to chromatography and related techniques; data processing and reprocessing using innovative strategies; interpretation and discussion of scientific results.
• Reading and writing scientific and outreach texts.
• Preparation, development, and defense of a doctoral thesis.
• Participation in meetings, seminars, and scientific dissemination activities.
• Integration into a highly competitive, multidisciplinary, and internationally recognized research group.
• Collaboration with leading research teams in the field.

Academic Requirements

• Degree in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Bioinformatics, Biomedicine, or related disciplines that qualify for admission to doctoral studies.
• Not having previously held a predoctoral contract for more than 12 months.
• Bioinformatics knowledge will be valued.
• English proficiency at C1 level or equivalent is required.

Conditions

• Contract type: Predoctoral (Art. 21 of Law 14/2011 of June 1 and Royal Decree 103/2019 of March 1).
• Start date: The 1st of the corresponding month.
• Duration: Up to 4 years.
• Working hours: Full-time.
• Salary: The minimum salary established for predoctoral contracts as stated in Article 12.4 of the corresponding call.
• Workplace: Centre for Metabolomics and Bioanalysis (CEMBIO), Faculty of Pharmacy, San Pablo CEU University.
