Practitioner Psychologist - HCPC Registered

Up to £63,000 Hybrid Working Full-Time or 4 Days Per Week

Covering 8 Children's Residential Homes 50% Travel 50% Remote

We are seeking an experienced Practitioner Psychologist to join our growing service, supporting eight children's residential homes. Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, you will play a vital role in embedding psychologically informed practice across services supporting children and young people aged 5-18 years.

This is a flexible hybrid role offering the option of full-time or 4 days per week, with approximately 50% remote working and 50% travel across residential settings.

About the Role

This is a predominantly consultative role, working closely with residential teams and senior leaders to provide psychological expertise, formulation, and support around children and young people with complex presentations.

You will be instrumental in helping teams understand behaviours, develop effective support strategies, and create psychologically informed environments that promote positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide psychological consultation across eight children's residential homes.
  • Attend and contribute to MDT and professional meetings.
  • Undertake psychological formulation and provide recommendations for care planning.
  • Support teams managing complex risk and behavioural presentations.
  • Deliver reflective practice, training, and psychoeducation to staff teams.
  • Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Line manage and supervise the Assistant Psychologist and Therapist.
  • Support the implementation of trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches across services.
