Role Description

We are seeking a Practice Accountant with at least 2 years' practice experience to join our fast-paced team.

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Theale, with the option to work from home one day per week after probation. You will manage your own portfolio of clients, delivering accounts, tax returns, and VAT, while also supporting advisory work for business owners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and finalise year-end accounts for limited companies and sole traders
  • Prepare corporation tax computations (CT600s)
  • Complete and review self-assessment tax returns, including advising on payments on account and dividend planning
  • Review bookkeeping data and prepare VAT returns (standard, flat-rate, and partial-exemption)
  • Assist with the preparation of management accounts, cashflow forecasts, and budgets for client meetings
  • Liaise directly with clients, answering queries and providing proactive advice
  • Ensure work is completed on time and to a high standard

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years' practice experience
  • Strong understanding of financial statements and tax compliance
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build client relationships
  • Part-qualified or qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA) preferred
