The Role

Due to the continued growth of the business, we are looking for self motivated, curious, and forward thinking problem solvers to join our BI team.

As a BI Developer within Metryx, you will be involved in client projects from day one; working on live business challenges and designing data and analytics solutions that deliver exceptional client value.

In addition to your technical know how, you will have an eye for design, ensuring solutions deliver an engaging user experience and support our brand values of Innovation, Integrity and Impact.

You will have a philosophy of self learning, keeping up to date on trends and making sure you are able to exploit new technologies in your projects as they become available.

As a key point of client contact, you will be confident and take ownership of issue resolution as required. As part of the wider team, you will work alongside our in house software developers, providing key perspectives on market demand, product features and user testing.

Requirements

You will have the following experience:

  • Proven experience in developing, maintaining and managing BI dashboards & analytics (i.e. Tableau/PowerBI) with a working knowledge of administration/architecture
  • Understanding of general BI best practices and guidelines
  • Understanding of SQL and knowledge of data modelling and data warehouse methodologies
  • Knowledge of programming languages is desirable but not essential (Python, R, Javascript)
  • Experience in working with large datasets and relational databases (SQL/No-SQL)
  • Advanced Excel skills (VBA would be useful but not essential)
  • Responsibility for creation and maintenance of technical documentation
  • Perform QA of own work and other team members
  • Comfortable working with an Agile methodology and using Kanban boards
  • Familiar with communicating with stakeholders to understand requirements
  • The ability to self manage and work under pressure to handle competing demands and meet tight deadlines

To be successful in the role you will possess:

  • Good degree (preferably in a STEM based discipline) or relevant experience
  • Excellent critical thinking and judgment
  • High level of mathematical ability and problem solving skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
