Poultry Farm Manager - Somerset - £35,000 + Accommodation Support The Job

An established poultry business in Somerset is seeking a proactive and experienced Farm Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of a mixed breeder and broiler operation. This is a hands on management role, overseeing all aspects of bird welfare, production performance and site operations, while leading a small team and ensuring high standards are maintained across the farm.

Key Responsibilities

• Full management of breeder and broiler units
• Monitoring flock performance, health and welfare
• Managing feeding, ventilation, lighting and environmental controls
• Overseeing egg production and handling (breeder side)
• Planning and managing crop cycles, placements and depopulation
• Leading and supporting on site staff
• Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with industry standards
• Managing biosecurity, hygiene and health & safety protocols
• Liaising with vets, suppliers and external stakeholders
• Driving efficiency and continuous improvement across the farm

The Candidate

• Proven experience in poultry farming, ideally within both broiler and breeder systems
• Previous management or supervisory experience
• Strong understanding of bird welfare, performance and farm operations
• Hands on, practical approach with strong leadership skills
• Organised with good attention to detail and record keeping
• Able to work independently and make informed decisions
• Full UK driving licence
