Reporting to: Post Production Technical Operations Supervisor

Role type: Full-time, permanent

About the Role

This role, based at the Remote Production Centre at Westworks, will provide post production support to internal and external production teams working at the facility. Responsibilities will include technical support of edit suites, file encoding, media capture and the creation of broadcast deliverables. The post production technical operations team will work in partnership with production and engineering teams to ensure all post production operations run smoothly and key deliverables are sent on time and to a high standard.

What's Expected
  • Provide front line post production support for Gravity internal production projects (e.g. UEFA UCL/UEL, FA Cup, Prime NBA, Goodwood) and third parties (e.g. ATP, Formula E) working at the Westworks facility.
  • Setup and configure Avid and Premiere edit suites in Westworks (in person) and Manchester (remotely), ensuring edit systems are allocated as assigned, and monitoring is patched and tested.
  • Process post production requests. Requests might range from file ingest/outgest requests, standards conversions, to AS-11 broadcast deliverables.
  • Bridge the gap between production and engineering to provide the teams working at Westworks a joined up client experience.
  • Follow complex workflows in order to deliver specific programme requirements.
  • Efficiently manage equipment failure to ensure minimal disruption to post production operations.
  • Carry out edit assembly tasks to prepare sequences for delivery.
  • Capture live streams in IP Director to ensure content reaches pre-determined targets.
  • Use IP Director to build packages to send to clients (for example, FA and UEFA).
  • Ensure standards are met within post production spaces from kit preparation, facility cleanliness and room presentation.
  • Write up daily handovers at the end of each shift, whilst escalating any issues to supervisors and the relevant engineering teams within the Westworks facility.

All employees are expected to contribute and participate in work activities in line with our management system to ensure the continual improvement of our business.

This Role Is For You If You Have
  • At least two years of relevant post-production support experience in a fast paced broadcast environment.
  • Experience of providing an excellent level of customer service support.
  • Ability to work under pressure to resolve technical problems efficiently, with a focus on reducing the impact of any faults on production teams working at Westworks.
  • Strong decision making competencies when analysing production requests and determining next steps.
  • Confidence and efficiency when working in Avid and Premiere to set up projects, ingest content, build and amend edits, and export content as and when required.
  • Ability to work across a shift pattern, which will include late/night shifts and weekend work.
  • Comfortable working within a corporate, team-based environment.
  • Strong understanding of file codecs, wrappers and post workflows.
  • Comfortable ingesting and transcoding footage.
  • Confidence across Avid Media Composer, NEXIS and Interplay.
  • Good knowledge of Adobe Premiere.
  • Experience with file conversions applications such as Adobe Media Encoder, Telestream Vantage, GV File, etc.
  • Knowledge of QC tools such as Harding and Vidchecker.
  • Experience with media databases (e.g. IP Director, Mimir).
  • Computer literate with Microsoft Office Tools (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, etc).
  • Excellent attention to details and organisation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both spoken and written forms.
  • A proactive mindset and willingness to take ownership.
  • Demonstrate Trust by acting with integrity, accountability, and transparency.
  • Promote Collaboration by working effectively across teams and sharing knowledge.
  • Support Innovation by contributing ideas and continuously improving ways of working.
