Post Doctoral Researcher - Rinn AI (6-Months Specified Purpose)

• Contract: 6-months Whole-Time, Specified Purpose Contract
• Salary:The gross salary applicable to the grade of post is €47,879 - €53,925 p.a. on a full-time basis (Point 2-6 of Research Ireland Postdoctoral Researcher Level 2A salary scale) - rates effective October 2026. For contract durations of less than 12 months, the salary will be calculated on a pro-rata basis.

SETU are currently seeking an experienced Postdoctoral researcher for a programme of work within the Research Ireland Rinn Artificial Intelligence: Research and Innovation in Data Science and AI national centre. The post is located in the Faculty of Business, Dept. of Management and Organisation in SETU (Waterford Campus) for a period of 6-months.

Applicants should have experience of independent academic research, working within a research group and data collection using narrative research methods. Researchers will work within a team led by the two SETU Rinn AI Principal Investigators from the Equitable Access and Input theme and will focus on policy and digital transformation in public and private employment services. The postdoctoral programme of work may include travel to other European countries for short periods of data collection. The research will focus on the development and deployment of emerging digital technologies and will contribute to a 15 year longitudinal study exploring the experiences of unemployment, service provision, labour market transitions and job quality.

Along with the programme of work the postdoctoral researcher will be expected to contribute to the development of the overall Rinn AI programme of work in SETU. This will include building a community across the University, preparation of funding applications, and assisting with administration, coordination of events. The successful candidate will become integrated into the Rinn AI national centre and will have the opportunity to participate centre activities, including engaged research.
