Post-CCT Clinical Fellow in Dermatology Skin Tumour

Applications are invited for this fixed term 12 month appointment suitable for dermatologists seeking specialist training in skin cancer, commencing 5 August 2026. This post provides an exciting opportunity for a committed enthusiastic individual wishing to gain subspecialty training in dermato oncology. Supported by a team of consultant colleagues with a dedicated multi disciplinary team, you will contribute to the provision of comprehensive management of melanoma, cutaneous lymphoma, GvHD and non melanoma skin cancers at Guy's and St. Thomas' Hospital Trust as follows:

Job Responsibilities
  • Be an active member of the multidisciplinary skin tumour team, delivering care to patients with skin cancer as part of the extensive tertiary referral service.
  • Attend outpatient clinics (melanoma, lymphoma, Graft versus host disease, skin cancer screening and general dermatology).
  • Provide medical support for patients requiring complex therapies (including photopheresis and chemotherapy).
  • Maintain continuing clinical responsibility for patients in your charge.
  • Receive subspecialty training and further development in dermato oncology.
  • Deliver clinical and other service activities to provide a high standard of care for patients with skin cancer.
  • Contribute to clinical research activities of the St. John's Institute of Dermatology.

The post will be based cross site at Guy's and St. Thomas' Campus and may require working at any additional or different location owned or served by the trust on an ongoing or temporary basis according to service demands.

Teaching and Training

The post-holder is expected to contribute to the extensive teaching and training programme at St Johns, including responsibility shared with colleagues for the educational supervision of trainees attending the department and support for the postgraduate MSc course.

Research Responsibilities
  • Supervise and contribute to providing required medical support for patients undergoing clinical trials within the skin cancer clinical trials platform.
  • Promote clinical research activities to other members of clinical staff within St Johns, thereby enhancing the delivery of the research programme.
Qualifications & Training
  • Full registration with the GMC and hold a license to practice.
  • MB BS (or equivalent).
  • MRCP (UK) or equivalent.
  • Post CCT.
Clinical Experience / Knowledge and Skills
  • Comprehensive clinical experience in dermatology and its subspecialties.
  • Broad based general professional training in general medicine.
  • Understanding of clinical risk management.
  • Ability to work as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Clear, logical thinking showing an analytical/scientific approach.
  • Research experience.
Teaching
  • Experience of undergraduate teaching and postgraduate training.
  • Teaching qualification.
Research
  • Understanding of the principles and applications of clinical research.
  • Evidence of original research.
  • Good organisation and communication skills.
  • Understanding the principles of clinical governance and its implications.
  • Evidence of a depth of understanding of audit.
Other
  • Evidence of understanding and adherence to the principles of Good Medical Practice set out by the General Medical Council.
  • Evidence of contribution to effective clinical audit and clinical risk management.
