Portfolio Manager - Family Office
Posted 3 hours 48 minutes ago by BlockTech
About the role
We are seeking a hands-on Portfolio Manager to help build and run the investment function of an early-stage family office. This is a broad, end-to-end role for someone who enjoys combining quantitative rigour with practical execution, and who is motivated by shaping processes, frameworks, and strategy from the ground up.
You will work closely with the founders and play a central role across the full investment lifecycle: from idea generation and analysis to execution, reporting, governance, and external coordination. This role suits a portfolio manager who values autonomy, trust, and long-term thinking over narrowly defined mandates.
Discretion, ownership, and intellectual curiosity are essential. While the role is data-driven, success also depends on clear communication, sound controls, and pragmatic judgment in a family office context.
Key responsibilities
Portfolio & strategy
- Develop, execute, and monitor the overall investment strategy.
- Identify, analyse, and propose new investment opportunities across asset classes and markets.
- Conduct market, macroeconomic, and quantitative research, including alternative datasets.
- Monitor portfolio risk, liquidity, and cash flows.
Data, reporting & controls
- Build and maintain dashboards covering performance, risk, cash flow, and attribution.
- Prepare management reports and investment updates for the principal.
- Support the setup of robust reporting, governance, and control frameworks.
Operations & external coordination
- Coordinate with the PA on payments, administration, and cash management.
- Act as the primary point of contact for accountants, tax advisors, and legal counsel.
- Prepare annual financial statements for holding entities.
- Review income tax filings together with external advisors.
Your profile
- 2+ years of relevant experience in asset management, trading, risk management, or quantitative research.
- MSc in Mathematics, Physics, Quantitative Finance, Econometrics, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of financial instruments, markets, and portfolio construction.
- Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently.
- Able to translate complex analyses into clear, actionable insights.
- High level of integrity, discretion, and personal responsibility.
- Comfortable operating in a small, entrepreneurial environment with an evolving structure.
What we offer
- A high-autonomy role with direct influence on investment decisions.
- Opportunity to help shape the investment framework and processes of a growing family office.
- Close collaboration with the founders and short decision-making lines.
- Competitive compensation, including base salary and bonus.
- Dedicated training and development budget.
- Flexible working hours and the opportunity to work hybrid.
- Professional, informal, and trust-based working environment.
