Senior Programme Delivery & Assurance Manager (PMO)

Surrey (2-3 days on-site)

3-month contract

£44 per hour PAYE

An NHS organisation in Surrey is seeking an experienced Senior Programme Delivery & Assurance Manager to support the delivery of a high-profile portfolio of cost improvement and transformation programmes.

Role Overview

This is a senior PMO role, working closely with the Deputy Director of Strategy and Executive workstream leads to drive delivery, governance, and assurance across a complex programme landscape. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered to time, cost, and quality standards, with clear oversight of risks, benefits, and performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead PMO support for Cost Improvement Programmes (CIP) and strategic transformation initiatives
  • Provide robust programme assurance, tracking delivery, risks, and benefits across multiple workstreams
  • Develop and maintain programme governance frameworks, reporting cycles, and performance monitoring
  • Produce high-quality reporting for senior stakeholders, including Executive teams and Board-level committees
  • Work collaboratively with clinical, operational, finance, and corporate teams to drive programme outcomes
  • Analyse complex financial, workforce, and performance data to inform decision-making and identify efficiencies
  • Support Quality Impact Assessments (QIA) and ensure safe delivery of transformation initiatives
  • Lead on stakeholder engagement, influencing senior leaders across the organisation
Key Requirements
  • Extensive experience within a PMO or programme management role, ideally in the NHS
  • Proven track record of delivering complex transformation or cost improvement programmes
  • Strong understanding of governance, assurance, and performance reporting frameworks
  • Ability to analyse and interpret complex data sets to support decision-making
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience working at senior/Executive level
  • Knowledge of NHS financial and operational processes (desirable)
  • PRINCE2 or equivalent project management qualification (desirable)
