Overview

Become a key player in our dynamic Portfolio Management Office (PMO) team within Gallagher UK & EMEA's Change and Operations function. This role offers excellent opportunities for development, growth, and career progression. The PMO Team provides essential services such as project and portfolio management, data analysis, and project governance.

You will have a deep understanding of project management language and requirements, enabling you to effectively relate to and support successful project delivery. In this role, you will conduct quality assurance reviews of projects to identify both improvements and successes, evaluating project outcomes to inform portfolio performance. We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment, and who confidently addresses and discusses issues using tact and diplomacy, demonstrating strong communication skills and a proactive approach.

How you'll make an impact
  • Support the Head of PMO in developing a PMO Centre of Excellence with a change governance framework for global leverage.
  • Establish and maintain project management standards, processes, and methodologies for GGB UK, championing their application across divisional portfolios, whilst driving the PMO Roadmap and maturity model.
  • Ensure timely, scope-compliant, and budget-conscious project delivery, aligning with strategic business objectives through robust reporting and analysis for project assurance.
  • Manage the end-to-end project delivery lifecycle with Heads of Change, Programme Leads and Project Managers across a varied change portfolio applying pragmatism with the ability to challenge when required.
  • Collaborate with and assign work to UK and Gallagher Centre of Excellence (GCOE India) PMO team members to deliver services at enterprise and divisional levels, directly supporting Heads of Change and Project Managers.
About you
  • Experience in delivering the end-to-end project lifecycle through project and/or consulting roles, preferably within a large corporation, ideally in financial services.
  • Understanding of project delivery methodologies (waterfall/agile) and associated controls, including fiscal management with relevant PRINCE 2/APM qualifications or equivalent.
  • Expertise in managing change portfolios, with experience in business case and benefits articulation. Delivery-focused with the ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Proven track record in identifying and implementing continuous improvements in change processes incluing quarlty assurance reviews of projects calling out areas for improvement and successes. Proficient in data analysis to identify root causes and propose solutions
  • Skilled in tracking project status and exception-based reporting at programme and portfolio levels, . Ability to integrate processes and tools for precise reporting.
  • Excellent stakeholder management abilities. Exceptional interpersonal skills, including effective communication with all company levels, including senior management.
  • Eagerness to learn and use non-standard tools and systems.
  • Experience in deploying project management tools and processes to stakeholders with varying levels of change knowledge.
  • Familiarity with Planview Portfolio or similar software.
  • High accuracy in written communications, presentations, and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Capable of participating in multi-disciplinary teams to successfully execute initiatives.
  • Excellent organisational skills to set priorities, develop work schedules, monitor progress, and report status.
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Teams, Excel, and PowerPoint, with an understanding of Power BI.
  • Eligible to work in the UK.
  • Willingness to travel to different UK offices as needed
