Job Title: Plumbing & Gas Trainer - Smart Energy Training
Location: Nottingham & Ashbourne
Salary: Up to £44,000 + bonus (dependent on experience & qualifications)

At Smart Energy Training, we deliver high-quality training and apprenticeships across plumbing, gas, electrical, and renewable sectors - and we're growing. We're looking for a hands on and enthusiastic Plumbing & Gas Trainer to join our expert team at our purpose built Ashbourne & Nottingham training centres.

Whether you're an experienced trainer or a skilled plumber/gas engineer looking to step away from the tools and into education, this role offers the opportunity to pass on your knowledge and help shape the future workforce.

• Delivering engaging, high-quality training to plumbing and gas apprentices
• Planning and delivering structured lessons aligned with qualification standards
• Providing one-to-one and small group support to help learners reach their full potential
• Supporting learners through practical workshop sessions and classroom learning
• Assessing learner progress and providing constructive feedback
• Maintaining accurate records of learner progress and attendance
• Working collaboratively with employers and internal teams to support learner success
• Creating a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
• Keeping up to date with industry developments and best practice within plumbing, heating, and gas

• Strong industry experience in plumbing, heating, and gas
• A passion for supporting and developing the next generation of tradespeople
• Confident communication skills and the ability to engage learners effectively
• A patient, supportive, and learner focused approach
• Teaching and/or assessing qualifications (AET, DET, PGCE, TAQA or equivalent) - training can be provided

• Salary up to £44,000 plus bonus (dependent on experience and qualifications)
• 37.5 hours per week (typically Monday to Friday)
