Harvey Nash are partnering with a leading London Borough to recruit a Platform Specialist to help manage and secure a cloud-first Microsoft environment supporting critical public services.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of core Microsoft platforms, driving security, automation and continuous improvement across the organisation's infrastructure estate.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and support Microsoft 365 and Hybrid Exchange environments
• Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy and identity services
• Oversee Microsoft Entra, Conditional Access, MFA, PIM and SSPR
• Monitor and respond to security incidents using Defender and Sentinel
• Manage email protection, retention policies, eDiscovery and VPN services
• Develop PowerShell automation to improve operational efficiency
• Contribute to platform upgrades, security improvements and cloud adoption initiatives

Essential Skills

• Strong Microsoft 365 administration experience
• Hybrid Exchange and Exchange Online expertise
• Active Directory administration and troubleshooting
• Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) experience
• Microsoft Defender and/or Sentinel security experience
• PowerShell Scripting and automation
• Strong understanding of security best practices and identity management

Desirable

• Azure platform experience
• Public sector or local government experience
• Microsoft certifications

This role would suit a Platform Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, Microsoft 365 Engineer, Systems Engineer or Infrastructure Specialist looking to play a key role in a modern, Azure-native technology environment.
